Queen
Of Talk

Master of Ceremonies · Public Speaking Trainer · Executive Coach

I am Joyce Daniels, a professional master of ceremonies based in Lagos, Nigeria.

For over 18 years I have hosted corporate events, government summits, luxury weddings, and international conferences.

If you are looking to hire a master of ceremonies in Nigeria, here is my story and why clients keep coming back.

The first time I held a microphone, I was ten years old.

It was 1992 at the First Lady’s Children’s Concert in Abuja, organised by Mariam Babangida, First Lady of Nigeria.

I didn’t know it then, but that single moment would shape everything that came after.

By 2007, I made the decision to become a full-time master of ceremonies.

Most people around me thought it was reckless. I had an anatomy degree and a conventional career ahead of me.

But I had spent years watching how events fell apart or came alive depending on who was on the microphone, and I knew that was where I belonged.

I wanted work that was restless, jovial, and fearless, the way I am.

I wanted work that could bring fulfillment, transform my natural talent into a refined skill, and lead me toward what the Japanese call Ikigai: the point where what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for all meet.

I am grateful I chose this path of being a Master of Ceremonies.

It gave me life. It gave me purpose. It gave me clarity.

So no, I did not set out to become The Queen of Talk. I simply wanted to live my best life and help others do the same.

How the Journey Evolved

Over eighteen years later, that microphone has taken me from local halls to presidential galas; from policy summits and boardroom dinners to luxury weddings and international business forums.

I have served governments, corporate giants, industry pioneers, and global foundations across energy, finance, manufacturing, FMCG, technology, healthcare and more.

To give you a sense of what that looks like in practice: I have hosted the annual general meetings of publicly listed companies in front of shareholders and regulators. I have MC’d presidential gala dinners where protocol errors are measured in seconds.

I have anchored multi-day international summits for the European Union, ECOWAS, and leading development organisations. I have hosted product launches for some of the largest FMCG and technology brands operating in Africa.

Each of these events required a different version of the same skill set: timing, preparation, audience awareness, and the ability to adjust in real time when things go off-script, because they always do.

Whether moderating a summit, steering a state banquet, or hosting a brand activation, I bring flow, structure, grace, cultural intelligence, and unforgettable presence.

And as the stages grew larger, so did my mission.

When I step off the podium, I enter another – the classroom.

Today, I coach executives and senior professionals in the fine art of bold, intelligent speaking: confidence, clarity, audience engagement, and gravitas.

Because history reminds us ‘the world is changed by leaders who can communicate their ideas and desires clearly.’

The Impact So Far

I have trained over 30,000 professionals to speak with courage and precision.

I have trained more than 1,000 Event Host MCs across Africa – teaching them to host with prestige, tell stories with cultural depth, and build sustainable, profitable speaking careers.

Through programmes such as Prepare to Speak and the Money Making Mouth Conference, I’ve watched African professionals discover that confidence is not a gift, but  a skill, built through deliberate practice and honest reflection.

The Cause I Fight For

Too many brilliant minds lose opportunities...

Because they cannot express what they know.

Too many leaders are misunderstood because their voices are trapped behind fear or uncertainty.

I fight fear and self-doubt – the unseen barrier to influence.

I fight silence – the quiet thief of potential.

I have watched senior executives lose rooms because they could not open with confidence.

I have seen brilliant founders pitch poorly because no one taught them how to hold attention.

I have sat through events where the MC read from a script word for word, missed every cue, and turned a well-planned programme into something awkward and forgettable.

These are the problems I spend my time solving, both on stage as an MC and off stage as a coach. I write about these topics regularly on my blog.

I fight invisibility — the reason great work goes unnoticed.

My mission is clear: to help African professionals, leaders speak so well that the world must listen.

MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

You’re not just meant to be heard — you’re meant to be remembered.
